Peverelist
Whilst in the middle of a slightly blunted listening of the new Scuba dj kicks mix I was caught off guard by a recent Peverelist cut that had so far gone unnoticed by me (‘Sun Dance’), so enamoured with it’s driving heads down vibe, swirling synths and tense percussion I immediately dug out every Pev record I could find from my collection and reacquainted myself.
For me Peverelist’s music has always had the ability to equally work as a soundtrack to late night headphone excursions as well as on large rigs in dark club spaces, a sound more akin to jungle than the techno it usually gets likened too. Deep, very often dark and always unique here are some of my favourite Pev cuts - be sure to catch this man in a club if you get the chance or check his mixes online for boiler room – always an education.
