lapalux remixes

Remixes by Lapalux

there was a time about 3 or 4 weeks ago when my inbox was blessed every other day or so with a soundclud notification from this fella. sick beat, after sick beat, upon sick beats. christ knows how much heat he’s cooked up since then. anyhow these remixes will have to do for now, plus this ep on pictures and this freebie from a while back. i swear though, none of this compares to the tracks removed from soundcloud.

word on the interweb is that he’s shopping around for a label to release his album.

watch out.

pop massacre vol 2

i love pop music and i love beats music, so for me this pop massacre series is a stroke of genius from the friends of friends camp (who recently released one of our album’s of the year thus far, by salva).

this second volume is less hectic than the first, employing slightly more pop and toning down the massacre, and all the better for it. dza’s reworking of the smiths mutes the vocal, applying synths, chops and screws. supachip injects a needle full of funk and bass into wooha (this will be merking the dancefloor for me) and lapalux twists jls out of their tiny minds. and there’s plenty more where that came from with jonwayne, devonwho, salva and shlohmo all featuring. in a time where average bootlegs are ten to the penny it’s refreshing to find such a high percentage of quality all in one place.

Fink - Perfect Darkness (Lapalux Remix)

All you alt / avant folk fans out there may or may not be aware that fink will be releasing a double A side on Ninja Tune on October 3rd.  However more importantly for me is this Lapalux remix that will be accompanying it.

We’re been big fans of the Essex boy here at the Donky camp, and to be honest I get a little wet down below whenever I hear about a new remix such as this.  Here Lapalux gives us enough of his brain melting madness to satisfy all tech head enthusiasts, whilst leaving enough space underneath to give the original space to breathe.  Watch out for fothcoming Lapalux releases on the brainfeeder label.  Boy got game.

november donky

i swear this is close to one of the best line ups we’ve ever had, and it’s bloomin’ free entry. wait a second whilst i blow our own trumpet…

lapalux is a producer on everyone’s lips right now. he’s played the boiler room, done high profile remixes for thundercat and fink (amongst many others) and has an ep forthcoming on fly lo’s brainfeeder label in january. hype!

offshore is our favourite scot. his recent pacer ep on big dada was on repeat at donky towers and pete pitch tells me he rocked a crowd of a few thousand at sonar this year. hy, hyyype!

add in some local talent and residents ghost mutt and myself. stoked.
